Marianna Hagidimitriou holds a PhD in Horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1993) and currently is Associate Professor at the Agricultural University of Athens-Greece. After obtaining her PhD she continued for a Post Doctoral Research at the John Innes Centre. In 1999 she was elected as a Lecturer at the Pomology Laboratory, Crop Science Department of the Agricultural University of Athens, Greece. In 2006 she was elected Assistant professor at the same laboratory and then Associate Professor in 2014. In 2017 she moved to Genetics laboratory in Biotechnology Department, at the same University. Her research interests deal with perennial trees studying genetic diversity, molecular markers, genome organization, evolution, genetic resources and physiology. She has supervised 8 MSc and 2 PhD students and has been in the committee of numerous graduate students. She has co-authored 25 papers in ISI journals, three book chapters and numerous presentations in international and national congresses.
